We adopted a vegan diet after being inspired by documentaries that confronted us with the impact of our food choices on the environment, animals, and own health. Years of investigating the science behind the footprint of our food system followed.

The realisation grew that we were making a massive contribution to the planet and society by eating vegan. We also learned that most people are willing to change for different reasons, but are unaware of the harm behind their food choices.

So, we wanted to contribute to the much-needed transition towards a plant-based food system by making impact data accessible and motivating. Both of us being scientists and software professionals, we decided to combine those skills and build the Livvie app.

To change our food system, people, companies, and governments all need to move together. That is why we are now developing software to also inspire organisations to move away from animal-based foods.
